Beginners welcome!

7 years ago I began teaching alongside my Mum and established Artist, De Gillett Cox at Arts Tree (Est. 2012), a private Fine Art School owned and run by our family in Brisbane’s beautiful bay side.

At Arts Tree I teach 4 classes a week stretching from Tuesday to Thursday, focusing on Acrylic painting and utilising every skill I have to share! A word of warning… this is not a wine sipping class where everyone walks away with the same image! At Arts Tree, our classes are all about the ways in which we can pour YOU onto the canvas.

Weekly Classes at Arts Tree:

Tuesday: 9:30am-12pm ($180 pcm) 6:30pm-8:30pm ($160 pcm)

Wednesday: 1pm-3:30pm ($180 pcm) 6:30pm-8:30pm ($160 pcm)

Workshops are more intensive than a weekly class, with all students working towards a common goal, whether that is an enhanced knowledge of colour theory or a finished portrait, I’ve got you covered. I’m passionate about transforming complex theories and methods of working into bite-sized and easy to understand steps that see my students moving (almost) effortlessly through their art works. I am very aware that the creative space can be a confronting place to be and the way that I’ve moved through that uncomfortable confrontation is to dive into it head first and embrace my inner art nerd! The more I know, the less fear I have, and it is this confidence and bravery that is the first gift that I pass onto my students.
